Family medicine Warsaw
At MDT Medical, we offer more than standard GP care. Our aim is effective diagnosis and a comprehensive approach to the patient. The GP at our practice is not just a referrer, but a family medicine specialist who diagnoses and plans treatment from the very first visit. As a result, we reduce the time to make an accurate diagnosis by up to three weeks and the total cost of diagnosis is up to 30% lower compared to the traditional medical pathway.
Our care extends to adults, seniors and children - offering prevention, treatment of chronic diseases and full diagnostic examinations in one place, in the centre of Warsaw.

To ensure that your visit to your family doctor (internist) at our outpatient clinic is effective and produces quick results, prepare yourself according to the following tips:
- Take your medical records with you - current results of diagnostic tests (laboratory tests, X-rays, ultrasound, MRI), hospital discharges, previous consultations with specialists.
- Write down your symptoms - identify exactly what ails you, from when, with what intensity and in what situations it intensifies.
- Prepare a list of medicines - both prescription medicines and supplements you are taking - including dosage and frequency.
- Ensure comfortable clothing - This will make it easier to carry out a clinical examination and access the affected areas.
Frequently asked questions
How to register with a family doctor in Warsaw?
At MDT Medical, booking an appointment with a family medicine specialist is quick and convenient. We do not require a GP declaration or referral. You can use our online booking system or call the reception directly. We offer quick appointment times and family doctors are also available outside of typical surgery hours.
Can a GP issue a referral for an MRI scan?
Yes, a family doctor at MDT Medical – as a general practitioner – can issue referrals for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), ultrasound and other imaging tests. In justified cases, these tests are part of a broader diagnostic process, which we conduct comprehensively on site.
Family doctor versus internist – what is the difference?
A family doctor is a primary care specialist who diagnoses and treats patients of all ages – children, adults and the elderly. An internist, on the other hand, deals exclusively with adult patients and focuses mainly on internal diseases. At MDT Medical, we offer the care of family doctors with broad diagnostic skills, which allows us to effectively treat entire families.
Can a family doctor prescribe psychotropic drugs or continue a prescription?
Yes, a family doctor at MDT Medical can prescribe psychotropic drugs or continue previously started treatment. Each decision is made on an individual basis, after analysing the patient's medical history and current state of health. In cases of chronic mental illness, the family doctor may also refer the patient to a psychiatrist.
Can a GP extend sick leave after a hospital stay?
Of course. At our clinic, the family doctor is fully competent to continue caring for the patient after hospitalisation. Based on the hospital discharge summary, medical records and health assessment, they can issue a sick leave certificate and plan further treatment. This solution ensures continuity and safety of healthcare.
